Hello and welcome to Casa Ravanals.
This was the ancient and noble home of the Ravanals, an important family in the area.
At the entrance there is a large river-stone paved inner courtyard, through which the carriages accessed the rear courtyards and the stables, where there used to be up to ten mules and two horses. The patio was always decorated with two pine trees that were cut down to give colour and their characteristic perfume. From the mezzanine, two balconies and a wooden gallery with large windows lead to this patio, which give it a square look.
Winter and summer dining rooms are worth mentioning. In the first there stands out the marble fireplace with the chiselled-out initials MR for Miguel Ravanals.
On the first floor, among other rooms, there stands out a 19th century style hall. Besides, next to the main bedroom there is a chapel with a mottled marble altar and marble imitation stucco dated from 1804.
In the Xerta parish register, an inventory of Joan Ravanals’ properties from the year 1658 is preserved and tells about the house located in carrer Major.
